Thamar University Continues its Training Program with a Second Specialized Workshop on Strategies for Teaching Cultural Courses and Strengthening Faith-Based Identity

■ As part of its ongoing program to develop academic performance and enhance the competencies of faculty members, the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at Thamar University continued its specialized training program on developing the teaching of cultural courses today, Tuesday, by organizing a workshop entitled: “Modern Strategies for Teaching Cultural Courses and Their Practical Applications in Strengthening Faith-Based Identity.”
The workshop was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University and the Chairman of the Coordination Council for Universities, Colleges, and Technical and Health Institutes, with the participation of faculty members from Thamar University and other public and private universities, colleges, and institutes in Dhamar Governorate.
The workshop, which was dedicated to teachers of cultural courses, aimed to enhance modern teaching skills and develop methods for delivering courses in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the educational process and achieving integration between cognitive, educational, and values-based aspects.
The workshop included three specialized scientific sessions. In the first session, Associate Professor Dr. Ahmed Mosaad Al-Hadi, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, addressed the latest educational strategies for teaching cultural courses, reviewing modern teaching methodologies that contribute to developing critical thinking, stimulating positive student interaction, and enhancing the quality of learning outcomes.
In the second session, Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mawshki, a faculty member at the university, presented practical applications of teaching strategies, based on models and teaching methods that can be implemented in classrooms. This strengthens the link between the theoretical framework and educational practice, and enhances the effectiveness of faculty performance.
In the third session, Mr. Hassan Al-Mawshki, the Consultant of the University Rector for Cultural Affairs, discussed the role of cultural courses in consolidating faith-based identity. He reviewed educational mechanisms that contribute to employing modern strategies to strengthen the value system and develop national and faith-based awareness among students within a balanced academic framework.
The workshop witnessed a distinguished scientific interaction among the participants, including several interventions and discussions that addressed the current state of teaching cultural courses, ways to develop their content and delivery mechanisms to meet the requirements of the educational process, and enhance the achievement of its educational and cognitive goals.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, affirmed that the university places great importance on developing the capabilities of its faculty members, as they are the cornerstone of improving the quality of university education. He emphasized the importance of translating the outcomes of these training programs into effective teaching practices that contribute to building the student's academic and intellectual character and strengthening their faith and national identity.
From his part, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, explained that the workshop is part of the center's plan for continuous professional development, which aims to update the skills of faculty members and enable them to employ the latest educational trends in the teaching process, in line with the university's direction towards improving the quality of academic performance.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates of participation to the attendees, in the presence of Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant Centers Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi, the Vice Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and Nasser Najad, the General Secretary of the Center.
