The Quality Center Organizes a Workshop for the Characterization of Applied Science Courses Thamar University Media/ Jamal Al-Bahri / Jumad Awal 28, 1445. December 11, 2023 ■ Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University and within the events of the Al-Aqsa Flood, the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance organized today a training workshop entitled " Preparation of Specifications and Curriculum Plan for the College of Applied Sciences ", targeting a number of 51 participants and the participation of Faculty working in the fields of Applied Sciences and their assistants. At the opening, the Rector of the University spoke about national and religious issues, including the fight against aggression, its agents and confronting its schemes that are being hatched against our homeland, our religion, and our nation, especially against the land of Ribat and Jihad of Palestine. Dr. Al-Haifi pointed out that the security and stability that was provided in our country thanks to the wise revolutionary leadership was the basis for continuing the teaching and academic training programs at our University, the rest of the Educational Institutions, and Yemeni Academy. From his part, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs expressed his pleasure in holding such the most important training workshops and expressed his thanks to the organizers, pointing out the importance of course descriptions, the importance of adherence to quality standards and academic accreditation. From his part, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai considered that these courses and training workshops are capable of raising the efficiency of Faculty members and their assistants for the benefit of the University and its affiliates, and excellence for University students from Bachelor's and Higher Studies. Dr. Al-Hudur thanked the University Leadership for their interaction with the programs of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance and the training workshops held by him, stressing the center's intention to continue developing and improving the University's academic programs to maintain their excellence and to reach modern programs, compatible with the highest international academic standards and the requirements of quality programs. The training workshop which was carried out by the Quality Expert, Dr. Anwar Massoud, the Professor of Biochemistry at the College of Applied Sciences, dealt with the preparation of specifications and the curriculum plan for the College of Applied Sciences at Thamar University and included the description of the components of the courses, the objectives of learning outcomes, their levels, and the desired results to ensure the achievement of the quality of the courses and a number of examples and guidance models were used to illustrate this. At the end of the training workshop which was attended by the General Secretary of the University, the Deans of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Center for Continuing Education, the Heads of Units at the Center, and the General Secretary of the Quality Center, the participants were honored with participation certificates. https://www.tu.edu.ye/index.php/site/views/DQAC/2554/2528
