The Academic Development Center holds the training workshop for the Heads of Development and Quality Assurance Units Thamar University Media / Jamal Al-Bahri / October 3, 2023 ■ Under the auspices of the president of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Center for Academic Aevelopment and Quality Assurance organized today the workshop on the implementation of the strategic goal contained in the strategic plan of the University (2022-2026) related to the activation of Quality Units in Colleges and Centers. The Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance held a training workshop targeting Quality Units in Colleges and Centers at Thamar University. In the workshop, the Rector of the University spoke about the importance of training Quality Unit officials in Colleges and centers, and the importance of them receiving full support and care from the University Leadership and Deans of Colleges. He pointed out that it is their responsibility to ensure the quality of the educational process and improve its outputs to comply with international standards. Prof. Al-Haifi added that the workshop is suitable to inform the trainees about the standards of Academic Accreditation, whether those related to program accreditation or institutional accreditation. He urged the participants to study and research the strengths of their college programs to strengthen them, and the weaknesses to fix the imbalances and deficiencies in them according to the available possibilities. Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai praised the efforts exerted by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance to produce a successful and fruitful workshop. He wished the trainees success in their tasks and stressed the need to comply with the Yemeni Universities law and its updates, especially with regard to the organizational regulations of the center. For his part, Dr. Zaid Al-Hadur, the Dean of the Center pointed out that the efforts exerted in improving the University's programs have doubled this year, thanks to the patronage of the University Rector, Dr. Al-Haifi who gives the issue of quality and Academic Accreditation standards special importance and care. Dr. Zaid added that we are seeking to strengthen the application of quality standards in all Faculties of the University as the work in the next stage falls on the shoulders of the Heads of Quality Units whom we rely on to improve the level of performance in their Faculties. He pointed to the Center's efforts to update the internal mechanism of the Center and to implement the ministerial decision, as well as the recommendations of the workshop. The workshop was attended by the Consultant of the Rector of the University for Legal and Administrative Affairs, the Heads of Quality Units in the Faculties and Centers of the University and the General Managers of the Quality Center, General Relations, and Media.
