A workshop at Thamar University to Promote a Culture of Achievement and Develop the Skills of Academic Leaders

■ In the context of Thamar University's efforts to modernize the academic and administrative work system and enhance the efficiency of senior leaders, the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance organized a workshop this Monday morning entitled "A Culture of Achievement and Priority Management for Senior Leaders at the University" in the hall of the Economic Consulting Center in the College of Administrative Sciences.

At the opening of the workshop, held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, the University Rector delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of instilling a culture of achievement in the university environment as one of the levers of modern institutional performance. He called on leaders to draw inspiration from the principles of organized work based on precise priorities and targets.

The University Rector praised the leadership of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, headed by Dr. Al-Ansi, for his efforts in developing the academic and administrative processes at the University. He also commended the efforts of Prof. Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid, the Director of the Center for Economic Consulting and Administrative Training, for hosting the event.

He also commended the efforts of the trainer, Dr. Ali Quradha, the Vice Dean of the College of Education, in preparing and implementing the workshop's training program.

The workshop began with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. This was followed by a welcoming speech delivered by the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, who outlined the workshop's objectives and main themes. He explained that it aims to establish the concepts of effective achievement, empower leaders with tools for managing self, time and change and develop institutional work mechanisms through an integrated strategic vision.

The workshop featured several scholarly presentations and interactive discussions, addressing key skills for fostering a culture of achievement, with a focus on self-management tools, time management, and positive engagement with change. These discussions were delivered through practical, applied presentations that addressed the needs of the university.

Dr. Al-Ansi also moderated an open discussion session with the attendees, during which views were exchanged on the relevance of the workshop themes to the modernization and development mechanisms the university intends to implement in the coming period. The attendees demonstrated remarkable engagement, emphasizing the importance of unifying efforts and integrating leadership roles to achieve higher levels of performance and quality.

The workshop concluded with a presentation of comprehensive recommendations presented by Associate Professor Dr. Ahmed Masoud Al-Hadi. He emphasized the need to develop a clear list of university work priorities and the commitment of leaders to implementing effective organizational tools within their various departments and units.
