The Rector of Thamar University Inspects the Student Affairs Office and Commends the Achievements and Qualitative Additions that Ensured the Success of Admission and Registration Procedures for the Academic Year 1448

■ As a part of the ongoing monitoring of university performance, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inspected the Student Affairs Office this morning. He met with Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, and discussed with him a number of issues and topics related to completing the coordination, admission, and registration procedures for the academic year 1448, and the level of achievement in the various tasks and services provided to students.
During the meeting, the University Rector commended the Student Affairs Office for its outstanding achievements and performance across all areas. He praised the efforts made in developing admissions and registration services and streamlining procedures for prospective students. This included the implementation of digital and smart programs and applications for archiving, processing internal transactions, and assisting and communicating with student coordinators. These efforts reflect the university leadership's commitment to enhancing the quality of student services and strengthening institutional performance.
The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs presented to the University Rector, in the presence of the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the head of the Media and Public Relations Department, Jamal Al-Bahri, the Registrar, Abdulmalik Al-Muallami, and the General Director of the Rector's office, Majid Al-Washli, the most prominent actions and procedures implemented by the office during the admissions and registration phase for the new academic year. These included adding the new academic departments and specializations that were launched this year in several university colleges and making them available through the online portal. This enabled students to apply to these programs in an organized and accessible manner.
The presentation also addressed the recommendations of the first Student Affairs Council meeting of the academic year 1448, held earlier this week, and the efforts undertaken to receive accepted students, complete their files, and finalize their registration procedures. It further discussed the process of replacing students who did not complete their registration or did not attend on the specified dates after the announcement of the admission results with the next students on the admission lists, according to official and transparent mechanisms. This process was announced through various media outlets and university platforms, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all applicants.
In a related context, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs presented to the University Rector and his entourage the "Smart Coordination and Admission Assistant" project. This project, designed and implemented this year, represents a significant technological addition to the university's efforts in digital transformation and the development of electronic services. The Smart Assistant aims to facilitate coordination and admission procedures, answer student and parent inquiries around the clock, and provide information related to academic majors, admission requirements, registration procedures, and various student services.
The Vice-Rector of the University also commended the technical staff in the Computer Department of the Deanship of Student Affairs, and specifically praised Engineer Asrar Abdulkafi Abdulmughni, in recognition of her outstanding efforts and the innovative ideas and smart digital solutions she provides that contribute to developing electronic services, simplifying procedures, and raising the level of performance efficiency.
The University Rector emphasized the importance of continuing to develop electronic systems and digital services that contribute to improving the student experience and simplifying procedures.
