The Student Affairs Council at Thamar University Held its First Meeting for the Academic Year 1448 and Discussed Preparations for the Start of the New Year

■ Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, the Student Affairs Office held the first meeting of the Student Affairs Council for the academic year 1448 this morning. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Abdulfattah Al-Rifai, who also serves as the Council's Chairman, and attended by the Council members.

The Council began its proceedings by reviewing and approving the minutes of its previous meeting held on April 21, 2026, and by reviewing the actions taken regarding the decisions and recommendations issued therein.

The council discussed several issues and topics related to creating a suitable environment for the start of the new academic year, most notably the mechanisms for implementing the academic calendar for the year 1448 (2026/2027) issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This ensures the smooth operation of the educational process and the smooth running of academic and student activities according to the established schedules.

The council also reviewed the timetables for student activities and events planned for the new academic year across the university's colleges, institutes, and centers. It emphasized the importance of early coordination between academic and administrative units to contribute to the success of programs and activities and the achievement of their educational and pedagogical objectives.

The meeting addressed several requests and issues submitted by colleges, institutes, and centers related to student affairs and services. These were discussed, and appropriate proposals and solutions were reviewed to enhance performance and improve the level of university services.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the council chairman emphasized the importance of integrated efforts among the various university units to ensure the success of the new academic year. He stressed the need for teamwork to achieve the university's mission and academic goals, and to provide a stimulating university environment conducive to excellence, creativity, and success.
