Thamar University Student Affairs Council Holds its Sixth Meeting and Discusses Student Issues

■ As a part of developing the student affairs system, Thamar University Student Affairs Council held its sixth periodic meeting this morning under the auspices of the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, who also serves as the Council's Chairman. Council members were also present at the meeting, which reflected a high level of institutional interest in student issues and ways to improve the services provided to them, as well as enhancing student performance to meet the university's aspirations and educational mission.

The Council began its work by reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting before moving on to discuss a number of student issues related to student affairs and services.

The deliberations focused on reviewing the current state of services provided to students and exploring ways to develop and improve their quality, thereby contributing to a stable and stimulating university environment that supports academic achievement and enhances the effectiveness of the educational process.

The council also discussed several organizational and procedural matters related to correcting and amending student data, based on approved official documents and memoranda from the relevant colleges. These cases were handled according to established legal and administrative frameworks, ensuring the integrity of procedures and safeguarding the rights of both current and alumni students. Emphasis was placed on full compliance with university regulations and bylaws and on reinforcing the principles of accuracy and reliability in academic records.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai congratulated the council members on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praising their sense of responsibility in addressing student issues. He also stressed the importance of holding regular periodic meetings, as they provide an effective platform for discussing challenges and addressing student concerns promptly. Several topics related to completing end of year requirements were also discussed, ensuring that procedures are implemented according to clear and organized timelines.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the council approved a set of recommendations aimed at developing student activities and strengthening communication channels between students and university administration. Implementation mechanisms and timelines were also established to follow up on the meeting's outcomes, contributing to enhancing the quality of education and achieving institutional excellence.
