Thamar University Outlines the Semi-Finalists of Al-Ghumari Cup in Sports Activities

■ With a remarkable goal tally and decisive competitive matches, the group stage of the Martyr Al-Ghumari Football Cup at Thamar University concluded today. The tournament is organized by the Student Affairs Office, represented by the General Directorate of Youth Welfare and the University Student Forum, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University. The event witnessed a large student turnout and a rising level of skill, contributing to the identification of the teams that have qualified for the semi-finals.
In today's match, the College of Computer Science and Informatics, the defending champions, continued to assert their dominance in the tournament, securing first place in Group B with a resounding 8-0 victory over the College of Education. The match, held at the University Stadium, saw the Computer Science team impose their rhythm from the opening minutes, capitalizing on their technical cohesion and tactical organization to record the highest-scoring game of the tournament so far.
In another closely contested and intense match, the Colleges of Engineering and Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine played to a 1-1 draw in Group A. This match, considered one of the most technically impressive since the start of the tournament, saw the Engineering team maintain their lead in the group on goal difference, while both teams secured their place in the semifinals.
In the volleyball tournament, the College of Engineering team also advanced to the next round after achieving a perfect record, defeating the College of Agriculture team in straight sets.
The meetings were attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, and the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, as well as a number of deans, their deputies, and officials, most notably the deans of the participating colleges. P
