Thamar University Honors the Student Affairs Office for the Successful Admission and Registration Process for the Academic Year 1447 in Accordance with the Ministry's and Supreme Council of Universities' Standards

■ In a festive atmosphere in the Central Library Hall and the Student Affairs Office, the leadership of Thamar University honored the Student Affairs Office this morning for the successful admission and registration process in accordance with the admission and registration standards of the Supreme Council of Yemeni Universities and the Ministry's policy for the year 1447.
The university officially announced today the closing of the coordination, competition, admission and registration process for the academic year 1447, 2025-2026. The ceremony was held at an official ceremony organized by the Student Affairs Office, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and with the participation of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs.
The ceremony was also attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Professor Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of the University, The University's Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University, as well as a number of Department Heads, Directors of General Administrations, and Leaders and Staff of the Student Affairs Office.
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by the University President, who commended the significant efforts made by the Student Affairs Office and its staff during the coordination period.
He emphasized that the success achieved in this year's admissions process reflects the level of organization, transparency and digital transformation that the university has adopted across all its departments. Professor Mohammed Al-Haifi pointed out that the university was able to efficiently manage the process electronically this year, from the moment the coordination portal was opened until the final admission results were announced, including the competitive exams, which were conducted under the direct supervision of the University Presidency and the Student Affairs Office.
From his part, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, explained that Thamar University achieved a qualitative leap in admission indicators this year, as the number of coordinated students reached (7708) students, compared to (6640) last year, an increase of (1068) students, which reflects the growing confidence in the academic programs offered by the university.
He added that the number of students accepted into the colleges and institutes affiliated with the university reached (3153) students, compared to (2808) in the previous year, i.e. an increase of (345) students, noting that this growth came as a result of the expansion of the absorption capacity and the adoption of new programs that responded to the needs of the labor market, directing thanks to the University Rector for his efforts and diligent follow-up, and to all the leaders of the Student Affairs Office and its cadres and the cooperating parties from inside and outside the university, appreciating in particular the efforts of the University’s Media and Public Relations Department with its leaders and cadres for their efforts and continuous presence.
The video presentation, delivered by the General Registrar, Abdulmalik Al-Mualimi, reviewed the most prominent stages of coordination, admissionand selection, as well as the unprecedented technical and administrative updates the process witnessed.
This year's developments included the opening of the Cybersecurity Department at the College of Computers and Informatics, the Biotechnology and Food Technology Department at the College of Agriculture, and the Midwifery Department at the Institute of Continuing Education. The developments also included the launch of an electronic link between the Government Financial and Accounting System (AFMIS) and the university's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which contributed to the automation of financial and administrative processes related to registration and admission.
The university also launched electronic collection points on campus in cooperation with CAC Bank to facilitate the payment of registration and coordination fees and activated the service of issuing personal cards for new students in coordination with the Civil Status and Civil Registry branch in Dhamar City.
The General Registrar explained in the presentation that the University Rector and his deputies directly and daily supervised all stages of the process, starting with technical and administrative preparation, through conducting electronic competitive examinations in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, medical sciences, engineering and computer science and finally following up on the registration process at the university's centers and institutes.
This year's examinations featured the application of an electronic fingerprint verification system and automated correction using the AS Exam Paper system, ensuring complete fairness and transparency in the selection process among applicants.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the General Registrar honored the University Rector and his Vice-Rector with shields and certificates of appreciation.
The University Rector and his Vice-Rectors also honored the leadership and staff of the Student Affairs Prosecution, as well as a number of administrative and technical units that contributed to the success of the process, awarding them university shields and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their distinguished efforts and tireless work over the past months.
The University Rector emphasized that this success represents a qualitative addition to the path of digital and administrative transformation at Thamar University and embodies an honorable image of the university as one of the most prominent national academic institutions that combines academic authenticity with administrative and technical innovation.
The closing ceremony was also attended by several leaders of the Student Affairs Prosecution, including Abdulhamid Al-Nimr, the General Director of Medical Clinics, Ahmed Al-Omari, the General Director of Student Activities, and Hana Al-Sharafi, the General Director of Student Services.
