Thamar University Embodies the Spirit of Resistance in Arts Competition

■ This Saturday morning, in the hall of the University's Central Library, Thamar University celebrated Arts Competition, which embodied a unique harmony between student creativity, national and pan-Arab sentiment and enlightened Islamic awareness among the university's male and female students.
 
The competition was organized by the University Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, the General Administration of Youth Welfare, and the University Student Forum, under the slogan "October 7,  A Flood Towards Liberation." Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, the competition was held in the central library amidst a distinguished audience and remarkable artistic and cultural interaction.
 
The student participation varied, exceeding (39) artworks, embodying the energies of young people who master the language of beauty with its flowing colors and lines.
 
The competition included works in drawing, photography, design, sculpture, caricature, and Arabic calligraphy. (21) students participated in drawing, (3) in sculpture, (3) in graphic design, (3) in caricature, (8) in photography, and (3) in Arabic calligraphy, all of which constitute a comprehensive picture of artistic diversity and aesthetic awareness.
 
In his speech during the event, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, emphasized that the university today commemorates the second anniversary of the glorious Al-Aqsa Flood, commemorating the sacrifices of the Palestinian people and the axis of resistance and the authentic and heroic Yemeni stance that participated in the battle to support Gaza in victory for its people's oppression.
 
He added that we see the arts as a window to awareness and a gateway to the creation of creative individuals and nurturing these talents is at the heart of the university's academic and humanitarian mission.
 
He continued that Thamar University embraces talent and embraces creativity. This year, it has granted a number of outstanding students free scholarships in recognition of their artistic contributions and qualitative excellence. He also emphasized that promoting creative activities is no less important than academic excellence.
 
The University Rector also praised the efforts of Professor Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Dr. Essam Wasil, the Head of the Department of Libraries, Printing and Publishing, for their pioneering role in enriching student activities and the cultural scene within the university and for the intellectual and literary creations they offer that reflect the university's renewed spirit.
 
From his part, Professor Abdulkafi Al-Rifai expressed his deep appreciation to the University Rector for his continued support of student activities, emphasizing that Thamar University is making steady progress toward building an integrated university environment that encourages creativity and embraces promising talent.
 
He also said that this competition is not merely an artistic event; it is a space for students to express their vision of life and translate national and humanitarian values ​​into meaningful and meaningful artworks." He emphasized that these works reflected Palestine's place in the Yemeni conscience and sensibility, praising the efforts of the University Student Forum and its cooperation in organizing the event with a spirit of vitality and belonging.
 
The competition concluded with a tour of the hall's corridors to view the students' artworks and creations, amid a festive atmosphere where colors blended with emotion. Attendees stood for long periods in front of paintings that captured the national memory, love for Palestine, support for its flood, and the collective conscience.
 
Thus, through its students, Thamar University has painted a national and Islamic picture, the theme of which is creativity, and the essence of which is that art is the language of liberation, awareness and beauty.
