Thamar University Shines in the National Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition for the Third Consecutive Year

■ In an atmosphere filled with faith and spirituality, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Thamar University achieved a distinguished achievement in the Third National Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition.
The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in the capital, Sana'a. The five-day competition featured the participation of more than 25 Public and Private universities and community colleges, and was attended by 300 competitors from various Yemeni universities.
From the third consecutive year, Thamar University continues to excel, winning five top positions in all categories of the Holy Qur'an, reflecting its commitment to promoting religious and cultural values among its students.
In the "Complete Qur'an" category, student Thiyab Mohammed Al-Obaidi from the College of Medical Sciences won third place. In the "Twenty Juz" category, student Raqiya Saad Abu Hassan from the College of Medicine won second place. In the "Ten Juz" category, student Othman Mahdi Mohammed Al-Najjar from the College of Computer Science won second place. In the "Five Juz" category, student Jihad Ibrahim Al-Nahari from the College of Medicine won second place. Student Abdulellah Khalid Al-Qami from the College of Engineering also won third place in the "Five Juz" category.
At the closing ceremony, the Deputy Minister, Professor Hashim Al-Duais, praised Thamar University, its Presidency, its academic and administrative staff, and its outstanding students in all cultural, scientific, and sports activities.
Thamar University and its winning students were honored with certificates of appreciation and financial rewards in recognition of their efforts and excellence.
The General Director of Youth Welfare and Activities at the University was, Mr. Ahmed Al-Amri was also honored with a certificate of appreciation from the ministry in recognition of his efforts in supporting student activities.
