Thamar University continues sports activities within the activities of the academic year 1446

■ Within the framework of the continuous keenness to support student activities and develop the capabilities of university youth, Thamar University continues to organize its various sports competitions within the activities of the academic year 1446 (2024 - 2025) and these activities enjoy the generous patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and the Direct Supervision of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, and with close follow-up from the General Director of Student Activities, Ahmed Al-Amri.

Thamar University witnessed today a sporting atmosphere full of enthusiasm and competitive spirit, through the semi-final qualifiers in the football and volleyball championships with the participation of the qualified teams from the university's colleges and institutes.

The matches were characterized by strong performance that demonstrated the students' skills and creativity, reflecting the development of the level of sports activities at the university which resulted today in the College of Computer Sciences' victory over the College of Agriculture with three clean goals (3-0), in a match in which the College of Computer Sciences dominated the course of the game thanks to an organized offensive performance and tight defense.

In the second match, the College of Administrative Sciences was able to defeat the College of Engineering with a score of (3-2), in an exciting match that was characterized by competition until the last moments, as the two teams presented a close performance and high technical skills.

In volleyball, the College of Computer Sciences continued its brilliance with a well-deserved victory over the Continuing Institute to qualify with merit for the final match.

In another strong match in the volleyball qualifiers, the College of Engineering succeeded in overcoming the obstacle of the College of Dentistry, to book its seat in the final, so that attention turns to the final matches scheduled for next Wednesday, amid expectations of more intense and exciting competitions as the best in each tournament will face off to win the title of the academic year 1446.
