Student Affairs Council holds its Second Meeting and Discusses a Number of Student Issues

■ The Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, chaired today a meeting of the second Student Affairs Council for the academic year 1446, (2024 - 2025) in the meeting hall of the Student Affairs Office, in the presence of the Council members from the Vice Deans for Student Affairs and the University General Registrar.
In the meeting, the Council reviewed the minutes of its previous meeting and approved them and discussed a number of topics included on the agenda, in addition to the topics raised by the colleges related to student issues.
The Chairman of the Council also directed the rapid preparation of the graduate lists to enable the Student Affairs Office to implement the directives of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, to begin the necessary arrangements and preparations for organizing the University graduation ceremony that will be held this year centrally in the Thamar University Square.
The Council also recommended that the Deans of Colleges, vice-Deans for Student Affairs, and the Directors of Activities prepare and arrange for all cultural, scientific and sports activities at the level of each college and quickly submit the activities and the names of the participants to the Student Affairs Office, as well as submit the names of the winners through the qualifiers at the college level in order to start organizing the central events at the University.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Council confirmed that the admission and registration process for the academic year 1446 was completely closed centrally through the electronic portal, and that there is no point in following up on students who did not complete the coordination and admission procedures or complete the registration procedures at the time, despite the dozens of announcements published by the University in this regard.
He pointed out that the coordination and registration process for this year lasted for more than four months, which is a sufficient period, as most of the University's colleges, centers,and institutes achieved the maximum capacity. Noting that some colleges were unable to meet the requests of thousands of competing students wishing to join Thamar University seats.
