The Rector of Thamar University attends the cultural competition for student activities

■ Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University was briefed today on the progress of the cultural competition (Males) for student activities at the University, which included the cultural competition in the field of Quranic, Quranic culture, and history and took place in the Hall of the Central Library of the University where this competition is organized within the activities of the annual cultural and sports competitions sponsored by the General Directorate of activities of the Vice of Student Affairs, under the slogan "Al-Aqsa Flood", in cooperation with the University Student Forum.
A number of different University Faculties participated in the competition, the jury of which was chaired by Dr. Bashir Zindal, where the Faculty of Medical Sciences qualified for the first place, the Faculty of Medicine for the second place, the Faculty of Computing for the third place, and the Centers came from the third to the sixth respectively for the Computer Center, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Education.
During his presence at the competition, the Rector of the University stressed the importance of consolidating the faith identity and the Quranic culture among the students and stressed the importance of our culture being faith and adhering to the Yemeni faith identity in all our activities, works, and events, especially that these events come under the title of "Al-Aqsa Flood" which highlights the importance of the issues of the Nation and Islamic Education in making us more aware and advanced.
Dr. Al-Haifi expressed his pride to all the students and wished them success in the final competition and to be the best who represents Thamar University in the qualifiers between Yemeni Universities sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education in the capital Sana'a.
From his part, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, pointed out that student competitions play an important role in developing students' abilities and skills, enhance communication, and constructive competition between them and reflect the University's interest in student activities, its commitment to developing students comprehensively, and providing an appropriate environment to promote comprehensive learning and positive student interaction.
On the other hand, the Cultural Consultant of the Rector of the University, Mr. Hassan Al-Mawshki, spoke to the audience, expressing his happiness with the cultural awareness, sense of faith, and a high sense of responsibility reached by the students of Thamar University and the value of the efforts of all participants and participations, considering that everyone deserves to win and praise, but the conditions of the competitions require the selection of winners and losers.
It is worth mentioning that last week witnessed qualifiers in plastic arts competitions, where the Graphics Department of the Computer Center won the first place, the Art Education Department of the Faculty of Education won the second place, and the Nursing Department at the Faculty of Medical Sciences achieved the third place.
The competition was attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the Vice-Rectors Consol for Administrative Affairs, the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Institute of Continuing Education, the Assistant General Secretary for Financial Affairs, the Head of the Library, Printing and Publishing Department, the General Registrar of the University, the Directors of Public Media, Public Relations, the Secretary of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, and Representatives of the University Student Forum.
