Thamar University Wins First Place in Popular Poetry and Fourth Place in Classical Arabic Poetry at the National Level

■ Thamar University achieved a new milestone in the fifth annual poetry competition and festival for university and community college students, winning first place in popular poetry and a shared fourth place in classical Arabic poetry among thirty Yemeni universities participating in the festival. This achievement continues the university's ongoing excellence in various cultural, scientific, and sporting activities, under the patronage and guidance of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the University Rector.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the University Rector, praised this accomplishment, emphasizing that the results achieved by the university's students reflect its wealth of talent and creative abilities, and the university leadership's commitment to supporting students and their participation in various events and competitions.

From his part, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, affirmed that this victory is a result of the university's focus on student activities and its ongoing efforts to discover and develop talents. He noted that the university will continue to support its students and empower them to actively participate in various fields.

At the festival, student Mohammed Abdul Latif Al-Khalaqi from the Faculty of Education won first place in the Nabati poetry category, while student Abdulmalik Al-Shaqr from the Faculty of Dentistry achieved fourth place (shared) in the classical Arabic poetry category. These results were obtained during the annual competition organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, with wide participation from students of public and private universities and community colleges.

At the closing ceremony, the two winning students were honored with the Ministry's shields and certificates of excellence. Thamar University and the General Directorate of Activities at the Vice Presidency for Student Affairs were also recognized with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding participation in the festival.

With these results, Thamar University continues its distinguished presence and high rankings in poetry competitions for the fifth consecutive year, in addition to its achievements in various cultural, scientific, and sporting activities. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and stakeholders from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, presidents and Vice Rectors of public and private universities and community colleges, members of the judging panel, and a delegation from Thamar University headed by Ahmed Ali Al-Awmari, the General Director of Activities at Thamar University.
