تعد كلية العلوم الطبية ثاني كلية طبية تم تأسيسها بعد كلية الطب في جامعة ذمار. ومن جانب آخر تحظى الكلية ببرامج موصفة.
تضم الكلية ثلاثة برامج تعليمية تخصصية في برنامج البكالوريوس هي: قسم الصيدلة (دكتور صيدلي)، المختبرات الطبية (طب مخبري) وقسم التمريض. لا شك آن طبيعة الدراسة بهذه البرامج تحتم وجود بنية تحتية جيدة توفر جميع المتطلبات لتخريج الطالب المهيأ لتلبية الحاجة في سوق العمل، لذا كان الدعم يصب بتوفر بيئة علمية وعملية مناسبة وذلك بتوفير العديد من المعامل وتجهيزها بأجهزة طبية حديثة، وقاعات دراسية ذات المساحات الملائمة.
