Thamar University and the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums Sign Scientific and Cultural Cooperation Agreement

■ Thamar University and the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums signed a scientific and cultural cooperation agreement today, Tuesday, to enhance partnership in the fields of antiquities, museums, heritage, cultural legacy, and scientific research.

The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and Mr. Obbad Bin Ali Al-Hayal, the Chairman of the Authority. The agreement includes conducting archaeological and museum research and studies, exchanging experts and researchers, organizing conferences and seminars, implementing joint projects, and joint scientific publications.

It also includes implementing training programs, allocating an archaeological site for training university students, and cooperating in protecting the holdings of Dhamar Regional Museum and exchanging scientific papers and reports.

The agreement comes within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation and utilizing scientific and academic capabilities to serve and protect cultural heritage.

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabaiba, the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, Dr. Amin Al-Jabr, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts; and several faculty members and leaders from the Department of Archaeology.
