The Minister of Education and Scientific Research Commends the Success of the 6th International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications at Thamar University

■ The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Professor Hassan Al-Saadi, commended Thamar University for its successful organization of the 6th International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications (eSmarTA-2026), hosted by the university's Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics. He emphasized the importance of the conference as a specialized scientific and research platform reflecting the university's growing academic presence in the fields of modern technologies and digital transformation.

This came during his meeting today with the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, at the Ministry's headquarters in Sana'a, in the presence of several leaders from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.

At the outset of the meeting, the Rector of Thamar University expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Education and Scientific Research for his attention to and support of the university and its academic and research activities. He commended the Minister's interest in the proceedings of the Sixth International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications, and the support and follow-up it received, which contributed to enhancing its scientific standing and achieving its objectives.

The University Rector then presented to the Minister the key outcomes of the conference, which was organized by the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics at Thamar University in cooperation with Yemen Research Foundation for Science and Technology. The conference featured a distinguished group of researchers, academics, and specialists from within Yemen and abroad, and included scientific papers, research presentations, and specialized discussions covering various aspects of smart technologies and their applications.

From his part, the Minister,  Al-Saadi praised Thamar University and its leadership, commending their efforts in organizing the conference and ensuring its success. He congratulated the university's leadership and staff on this scientific achievement, which reflects the high level of academic and research activity at the university and underscores the importance of Yemeni academic institutions in keeping pace with the rapid developments in technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

He affirmed that the success of the Sixth International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications represents a qualitative addition to the scientific and research activity at the university. It embodies the importance of holding specialized scientific conferences that bring together researchers, academics, and experts, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and allowing for discussions on the latest trends in smart technologies and their various applications.

The Minister of Education and Scientific Research commended the efforts exerted by the leadership of Thamar University, the scientific and organizing committees, and the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics in preparing for and implementing the conference. He praised the high standard of the conference and what it reflected in the university's ability to host and organize specialized scientific events efficiently and effectively.

This meeting comes within the framework of the commitment to strengthening Thamar University's role in higher education and scientific research, and to solidifying its presence in the arena of specialized scientific conferences and forums. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector, the Chairman of the Accreditation Council, the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, several presidents of public universities, the Dean of the National Institute of Administrative Sciences, and a number of ministry officials.
