The Rector of Thamar University Chairs Preparatory Meetings and Inspects Final Preparations for the 6th International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications (eSmarTA-2026)

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University and the Chairman of the 6th International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications (eSmarTA-2026), intensified a series of preparatory meetings, coordination sessions, and field visits to oversee the final preparations for the conference.
The conference, hosted and organized by Thamar University in partnership with the Yemen Research Foundation, will be held on August 4 and 5, 2026, under the theme "Smart Transformation Towards a Secure and Sustainable Digital Future."
The meetings, chaired by the University Rector and attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the Vice-Rector of the Conference, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdulrazzaq, the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center and faculty member at Thamar University, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hittar, the Rector of Yemen Research Foundation, Dr. Qais Al-Tazili, the Conference Rector, Professor Dr. Bashir Mohammed Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, and several academic and administrative leaders from the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, reviewed the achievements of the scientific, organizational, media, and technical committees. They assessed the progress made in various administrative, technical, and logistical aspects to ensure the conference reflects the prestige of Thamar University and the scientific reputation of the conference.
The Unversity Rector and the academic and organizational leaders also inspected the conference halls and facilities, reviewing the readiness of the Palestine Conference Hall, the scientific halls at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, and the Computer Center. They also examined the electronic broadcasting system and communication technologies that will support both in-person and virtual sessions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among all committees to ensure the success of this international scientific event.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance with virtual participation, and will host researchers and experts from around the world.
The university leadership held coordination meetings with partners, supporters, and sponsors of the conference, most notably the Yemen Research Foundation. These meetings addressed organizational aspects and mechanisms for joint coordination, aiming to enhance the quality of the event, achieve its scientific objectives, and strengthen the partnership between the university and research institutions that support innovation and scientific research.
The conference boasts broad international scientific participation, having received hundreds of research papers from dozens of countries. The scientific committee approved 96 peer-reviewed research papers, which will be presented across 12 specialized scientific sessions covering key areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, robotics, computer vision, smart communications, software engineering, industrial systems, smart energy, and other modern applications. The accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore library and indexed in global databases, further enhancing the international reach of the conference and its scientific outcomes.
The conference is being organized as an extension of Thamar University's efforts to solidify its position as a center of academic and research excellence and to enhance its presence in international scientific forums. This is achieved by hosting specialized events that bring together researchers, experts, and innovators, support knowledge production, and contribute to developing technological solutions to address future challenges.
