Thamar University Approves International Conference for the Faculty of Arts and Announces the Imminent Launch of Thamar University Radio

■ As a part of his efforts to develop academic and media work, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, chaired a meeting today at the Faculty of Arts.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Al-Jabr, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and a number of university and faculty academic and administrative leaders.

During the meeting, which discussed a range of issues and topics, the university president approved the holding of a specialized scientific conference at the faculty. The conference will address the opportunities, challenges, and future transformations resulting from the impact of artificial intelligence on the humanities.

The conference's organizing team, comprised of faculty and administrative leaders and members, presented the conference's outline, confirming that the date will be announced soon after the completion of organizational arrangements. They also emphasized that the conference will have an international character, utilizing modern video communication technologies to enhance external participation and broad academic engagement.

In line with the university's commitment to developing its media performance, and in the presence of Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department, the University Rector directed that the expertise of the faculty and creative minds within the Media Department of the Faculty of Arts be utilized to establish a university radio station. He commended the department's remarkable progress, noting that it had been fortunate to attract a distinguished group of students with extensive experience in the media field at the governorate level.

During the same meeting, the University Rector announced the imminent launch of "Thamar University Radio," indicating that he had directed the formation of a team to establish the station. He emphasized its crucial importance to the Media and Public Relations Department and the Media Department of the Faculty of Arts, as well as the vital role radio programs play in education, awareness and building community and student consciousness.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Aziz Al-Aqra, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fouad Al-Shammeri, the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, Dr. Essam Wasel, the Head of the Library Department, Bandar Al-Harouji, the General Secretary of the College, as well as a number of university leaders, researchers and faculty and administrative staff from the College of Arts.
