Conclusion of the Scientific Conference of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Sana'a Thamar University Media / Jumad Awal 30, 1445. December 13, 2023 ■ Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, the Vice-Rector of the University for Higher Studies, and a team of scientists and researchers from Thamar University attended the closing ceremony of the Fourth scientific Conference on artificial intelligence technology and quality assurance of Higher Education, where the Rector of the University and the accompanying delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the conference. At the conference, Thamar University participated in two scientific researches, the first research was presented by Prof.Dr. Muneer Al-Mekhlafi from the Faculty of Computers at Thamar University, and was entitled "Improving the Outputs of Higher Education in Yemen using Artificial Intelligence". The second paper was presented by Dr. Ali Mohammed Quradha and Abdulmalik Al-Afari, and was entitled "Requirements for the Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Yemeni Universities". Thamar university had participated in the management of the conference sessions represented by Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Professor Dr. Khalil Al-Wajih. The Fourth Scientific Conference on artificial intelligence technology and quality assurance of Higher Education stressed the need to prepare a national strategy for artificial intelligence in light of the directions of the national vision and the Ministry of Higher Education. At the end of the conference which was organized in two days by the Information Technology Center at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in partnership with the council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance, the participants called for integrating artificial intelligence applications within the requirements of integrated education, and the creation of a code of ethics and a national plan for the uses of artificial intelligence. The recommendations of the conference also called for the development of general policies and executive lines to enhance the use of artificial intelligence in Education and Scientific Research, guide Higher Education Institutions with its Governance, Qualify Faculty and Administrators and enable them with new digital skills. The Higher Education Institutions pointed out to design study programs based on artificial intelligence and launch educational programs at Universities to keep pace with the expected change and future jobs and the introduction of this technology within the educational curricula commensurate with each stage. The recommendations pointed to the importance of obliging Higher Education Institutions to apply the Quality of Higher Education through self-and external evaluation, reference comparison method, evaluation procedure and overall quality to reach institutional and programmatic accreditation. The conference participants called on the private sector to invest in artificial intelligence companies in the fields of education and to build an effective partnership between the public and private sectors to support education, research, development and innovation, and to emphasize the balance between the use of artificial intelligence technology and maintaining the essence of human interaction. They stressed on addressing the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO" by adopting the preparation of an Arab Strategy and coordination executive plans for the introduction of artificial intelligence in education and the possibility of Higher Education Institutions to benefit from it in improving the quality of Higher Education by providing educational content dedicated to students and providing feedback. The participants also stressed the importance of updating educational legislation to keep pace with the latest developments in artificial intelligence, adopting a project to automate the audit and monitoring process to find out the extent of applying the standards of the Academic Accreditation Council in Universities, and printing scientific conference documents and papers electronically and paper. They praised the achievements of the Information Technology Center and the Academic Accreditation Council at the local and international levels, especially the adoption of more than one academic program for the first time in the history of Higher Education, the completion of the normative content and the preparation of the National Qualifications Framework. The recommendations blessed the decisions of the leader of the revolution in support of the Palestinian people and participation with the resistance in Gaza to fight the holy Jihad battle to confront the Zionist entity with money, weapons, rocket power, the Navy, the guided aviation, and the last of which is to prevent the passage of ships bound for the Zionist entity. In conclusion, the Minister of Higher Education of the Caretaker Government, Mr. Hussein Hazeb, stressed the importance of the conference to highlight one of the most important Sciences of the era in information technologies and modern applications known as artificial intelligence technology, which is interested in studying and understanding the nature of human intelligence and simulating it. He praised the role of the leadership of the Information Technology Center and the Academic Accreditation Council in achieving achievements for the first time in the history of the Higher Education sector in Yemen, especially in the field of Information Technology, comprehensive automation, the preparation of national standards and the description of academic programs. Mr. Hazeb pointed out the importance of the integration of the relevant authorities, especially telecommunications, electricity and the private sector in providing the infrastructure to move towards artificial intelligence. He stressed that the Ministry has completed the collection and documentation of researches, studies and dissertations of Yemeni researchers for the past fifty years in a bibliography unit. From his part, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din explained that the conference comes after the success of three scientific conferences dedicated to e-learning in higher education institutions and the implementation of their practical outputs through the Information Technology Center. Fromhis part, the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdulrazzaq, stressed that the conference focused on the role and impact of artificial intelligence technology on academic development and the quality of education, contributing to enhancing individual learning experiences and allowing academics to develop teaching methods and scientific research. He touched upon the partnership with the Academic Accreditation Council and the achievements it has achieved at the national and international levels in a record period and working to implement the recommendations of the previous three conferences, foremost of which is the National Qualifications Framework and the classification of academic programs. Meanwhile, the General Secartary of the Council Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Mohammed Daif Allah, pointed to the trends of some countries in preparing legal frameworks for artificial intelligence, updating their legal structure and adopting flexible strategic plans to enable institutions to respond to the requirements of intelligent scientific progress. He stressed that the governance of artificial intelligence is important in Higher Education Institutions. He reviewed the achievements made by the Academic Accreditation Council in this field, including the preparation of integrated e-learning standards, classification and coding of academic programs, the preparation of the draft National Qualifications Framework with the participation of 32 government and private entities, and the preparation of the standard content of e-learning. On its second day, the conference dealt with research and scientific papers in four working sessions, the first session reviewed four working papers, including "a proposed vision for the development of the administrative system in Higher Education in the light of artificial intelligence applications and the use of artificial intelligence in File Management in Higher Education, the mechanism of using deep learning technology to analyze content in Higher Education, and improving the quality of services provided to clients of accounting systems companies. The Second Session reviewed working papers on the requirements of employing artificial intelligence technologies in Yemeni Universities from the point of view of Arab Universities, the design of the quality assurance system, the opportunities and challenges of using intelligence applications in developing teaching skills for Faculty members in Engineering Colleges at Yemeni Universities and the requirements of applying intelligence technologies in Yemeni Universities. The Third and Fourth Sessions dealt with research and scientific papers, including " the relationship of performance measurement indicators with artificial intelligence in Higher Education, exploring the possibilities of Yemeni Universities in the classification and the requirements for preparing a general education teacher in the light of artificial intelligence trends, and the expectations of students of Private Universities in the Capital Sana'a to apply artificial intelligence and its role in the quality of educational services, and improving the outputs of Higher Education in Yemen. The conference, which was attended by more than 700 participants from various Yemeni Universities, included about 40 scientific researches and working papers presented by experts and researchers in artificial intelligence from Yemen and Arab and foreign countries. At the end of the conference, which was attended by Shura Council member, Mr. Hassan Abdulrazzaq, the Heads of Yemeni Universities and the Ministry's Leaders, the Minister of Higher Education, his Deputy, the Leaders of the Information Technology Center, the Academic Accreditation Council, the Heads of Committees and Scientific Sessions of the Conference were honored. https://www.tu.edu.ye/page/view/1/2540
