Thamar University Promotes Solidarity with Palestine by Raising Yemeni and Palestinian Flags on the University Buildings

■ In response to the directives of the Rector of Thamar University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, and in confirmation of its harmony with the Direction of the Revolutionary Leadership, Thamar University strengthened Loyalty and National Arab and Islamic feeling by raising Yemeni and Palestinian flags and slogans of solidarity with Palestine on the University buildings and colleges inside and outside the Campus.

The spirit of solidarity pervaded the Faculties and Institutes of the University, and decorated their buildings with Yemeni and Palestinian flags as a true expression of solidarity and support for the heroic Al-Aqsa Flood Operation and in condemnation of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The new flags were raised in large size in the buildings of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Computers, as well as the Institute of Continuing Education and the Computer Center. Solidarity was also manifested through the work of Student in the Department of Art Education at the College of Arts, Ajlal Al-Ansi by embodying the Palestinian and Yemeni flags on the walls of the University cafeteria and drawing the flag of the Zionist entity on the floor of the cafeteria door to be trampled under the students' feet as an expression of contempt for the Zionist entity and the colonial project which is weakened by a spider's web.

In this context, the General Secartary of the University directed the General Administration of Services to purchase more large flags and erect them on the Administrative buildings and Gates of the University to be a clear symbol of solidarity and support for the cause of Palestine.

Prof. Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar university said that we continue to support Palestine and stand united with them in their difficult plight .The raising of Yemeni and Palestinian flags throughout the University reflects our unity and strong solidarity with Palestine and its people.

This step comes as part of Thamar University's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the Palestinian issue among its Students, Faculty and Staff and enhance public awareness of the importance of solidarity and support to end the occupation and achieve justice in the region.

It is noteworthy that this initiative comes in the context of popular and international solidarity campaigns to condemn the Zionist aggression against Palestine and reflects the symbolic expression of the unity of the cause among peoples and the continuous Arab and Islamic support for Palestine
