The Rector of Thamar University participates in the Second Scientific Conference of Applied Sciences at September 21 University Thamar University Media / October 5, 2023 ■ Today, The president of Thamar University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi along with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Amtalkhaliq Mihras participated in the Second Scientific Conference of September 21 University of Applied Sciences, which was opened by The Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Saleh Al-Nuaimi, Head of the Caretaker Government, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Bin Habtoor, in the presence of consultants and doctors in the field of Cardiology, and more than a thousand students from various Yemeni Universities. At the opening, the Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, considered the University to be one of the achievements and fruits of the September 21 revolution that freed Yemen from dependence on abroad. He stressed the need to redouble efforts and improve the performance of Science and Education at all levels and its programs, and activate the role and functions of Universities established for Education, Scientific Research and community service. For his part, the Head of the Caretaker Government, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Bin Habtoor, expressed his appreciation to the September 21 University and all Yemeni Universities that play important Academic, Scientific and Research roles during this exceptional and critical period in the history of Yemen. For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Caretaker Government, Hussein Hazeb, stressed that the most important achievements of the government of national salvation and the September 21 Revolution were the establishment of four state Universities and 12 private Universities, the opening of more than 100 academic programs, the modernization and development of academic programs, and the preparation of national academic reference standards for medical, engineering, computer, administrative and humanitarian programs. He explained that the Ministry and the Academic Accreditation Council are in the process of announcing the granting of the program academic accreditation certificate to one of the Yemeni Universities that has met all the required conditions and criteria during the coming week, and as the first Yemeni University to be granted a local accreditation certificate in preparation for obtaining international accreditation. Mr. Hazeb added that September 21 university has become a main pillar along with its counterparts from Yemeni public and private Universities. He stressed that Scientific Research is one of the most important functions of Universities and one of the pillars of development, in addition to its tasks in education and community service. The conference discussed 13 scientific and Research working papers of Senior Cardiac Consultants in Yemen on the latest achievements of modern science in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and surgery and updating the information of male and female doctors graduates and students of excellence currently in the medical and health fields and raising their professional capabilities.
