■ As a part of the academic preparations for the start of the educational process, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inaugurated the new academic year today at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics. He was accompanied by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs,  Professor Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, and Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department.

The Rector of the University and his entourage were received by Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, Bandar Al-Duhmli, the General Secretary of the Faculty, a number of faculty and administrative staff members, and representatives from the University Student Forum.

The new academic year was officially launched, and the arrangements and preparations for receiving students and creating a suitable learning environment were reviewed to ensure the success of the academic process during the new academic year.

During the visit, the University Rector inspected the technical equipment of one of the Cybersecurity Department's Laboratories at the college. He received a briefing on the lab's components and the modern equipment provided to support students' practical training and development, enhancing their scientific and practical skills in one of the most rapidly growing technical fields, both locally and globally.

The Rector also reviewed the progress of the "Al-Aqsa Flood 2" supplementary training course, which is being conducted for students from various academic levels. He listened to a presentation on the course's content and its educational and cultural components, emphasizing the importance of training activities and programs that support the educational process in building the university student's character and developing their scientific, cultural, and national awareness.

During the inauguration of the new academic year, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi affirmed that Thamar University places great importance on developing the educational and technological environment in its various colleges, especially the College of Computer Science and Informatics, which represents a vital source of qualified personnel in the digital and modern technological fields.

From his part, Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, expressed his gratitude to the University Rector and the University leadership for their continued support of the Faculty and their commitment to addressing its academic and technical needs. He affirmed that the Faculty has completed its preparations to receive students and provide a suitable learning environment, and that it is proceeding with its plans to develop academic programs and enhance practical and training aspects to keep pace with labor market demands and modern technological advancements.
