Thamar University Inaugurates Network Lab at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics and Launches "Al-Aqsa Flood 3" Exhibition for the Graphics Department

■ A new academic step towards technical excellence and national engagement was taken at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics this morning, which witnessed the inauguration of the Network Lab (C) by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, along with Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the Faculty.
 
The lab is equipped with the latest technical equipment and advanced computers. Also present were Dr. Khaled Al-Husseini, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University, Bandar Al-Duhmali, the General Secretary of the Faculty, Ahmed Rabid, the General Secretary of the Computer Center, as well as the notable attendance and participation of heads of academic departments, faculty members and their assistants.
 
The laboratory's opening coincided with the Martyr's Week events, which the college commemorated with a distinguished program featuring photographs and models that expressed loyalty and appreciation for the sacrifices of the martyrs who gave their lives defending the homeland and its dignity.
 
During the opening ceremony, the University Rector praised the efforts of the leadership of the College of Computer Science and Informatics, as well as its academic and administrative staff. He commended their continuous work to develop academic and technical performance, specifically mentioning the College's Dean and the General Secretary, praising their efforts in developing and strengthening its infrastructure.
 
Dr. Al-Haifi noted that the College of Computer Science is one of the university's oldest colleges and one of the most prominent specialized colleges in the technical field nationwide. It provides academic and technical supervision to several computer science colleges in Yemeni universities. He affirmed that this year will be a pivotal one for the college in terms of infrastructure development and the introduction of new specializations that meet the demands of the job market and the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
 
In his address on this occasion, the University Rector linked the scientific and national events taking place at the university, emphasizing that commemorating Martyrs' Week comes within the context of honoring the martyrs who forged the nation's glory. He said, "We are here in this province, in this university and in this hall, working, achieving, and building our nation in safety and tranquility. All of this is thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs who gave their lives for God and country. They are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance."
 
From his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, welcomed the University Rector and the attendees, expressing his deep appreciation for the generous and continuous support the Rector provides to the faculty's activities and development projects.
 
He affirmed that this opening is an extension of a series of achievements realized during the past years under the leadership of Dr. Al-Haifi. Al-Maqaleh also noted that the faculty includes more than thirty students with specialg needs and is committed to integrating them into the technical educational environment, ensuring equal opportunities for learning and creativity.
 
Following the opening ceremony, the University Rector and college leadership inaugurated the "Al-Aqsa Flood 3" exhibition, organized by students of the Graphics Department at the Computer and Information Center for the third consecutive year.
 
The exhibition featured the work of 203 students and included over 280 paintings and 15 sculptures depicting the great Yemeni struggle against the forces of evil, aggression, and occupation, as well as the suffering of the Palestinian people and the steadfastness of the resistance in the face of aggression. The exhibition received widespread praise from the university leadership and attendees for its profound student creativity and its noble humanitarian themes.
 
At the conclusion of the visit, the University Rector affirmed that Thamar University will continue to support creative student initiatives and activities that combine academic and national dimensions. He emphasized that the college will remain a scientific platform and a center of technological and intellectual influence, providing the nation with qualified individuals capable of shaping the future.
 
At the opening ceremony the Rector of Al-Saeeda University, the Dean of the College of Education and Medical Sciences, the Heads of the Media, Planning, Libraries and Follow-up departments and several General Directors of various departments were presented.
