The Council of the College of Computer Science and Informatics at Thamar University Determines Mechanisms for Transitioning to Unified Curriculum Plans

■ In implementation of the directives of Prof. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University and the Chairman of the Committee for Unifying Curriculum Plans in the Academic Programs at Thamar University, the College of Computer Science and Informatics held its extraordinary council to discuss the mechanisms for implementing unified curricula in accordance with the ministerial circular regarding unified curricula. The council approved implementation mechanisms starting with the academic year 1447, 2025/2026.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and attended by Prof. Bashir Mohammed Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the College and the Chairman of its Council, as well as members of the council.
During the session, the council discussed the details of the ministerial circular and approved the college's commitment to implementing unified curricula at the undergraduate levels starting with the current academic year. It also reviewed implementation mechanisms at the academic program level. The department heads presented the first-level study schedules, according to the Ministry's approved plans. These were circulated to students in preparation for implementation.
In this context, the Council formed an executive committee headed by the Dean of the College to monitor implementation, address issues and record observations in departmental minutes for presentation to the Academic Committee and the College Council. These observations will then be submitted to the Center for Development and Quality Assurance and the Main Committee.
The Council also set a date for a workshop to discuss mechanisms for transitioning to unified plans, a step aimed at ensuring a smooth and effective transition.
The meeting was attended by the College's General Secretary, Mr. Bandar Al-Duhmali, and the General Secretary of the Academic Development Center, Mr. Nasser Saleh Nejad.
