Thamar University Moves Forward with Graduate Program Development by Approving the Description of the Master's Program in Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Medical Sciences

■ Thamar University approved the description document for the Master's program in Pharmaceutics within the Pharmacy Department at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The document was discussed and enriched by specialists and academics, paving the way for the completion of the approved academic procedures.
This took place under the auspices of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, during a workshop organized by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance in cooperation with the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The workshop was attended by a number of university leaders, faculty members, members of the scientific and organizing committees, and those involved in preparing the program.
The workshop opened with a speech by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the University Rector, who emphasized that developing postgraduate programs is a key component of the university's commitment to enhancing the academic process and improving the quality of higher education. He stressed the importance of collaboration among colleges, centers, and specialized units in reviewing and developing academic programs, thereby strengthening the quality of the university's graduates and supporting its role in preparing specialized personnel and serving the community.
In closing, the Rector of Thamar University announced the imminent launch of a bridging program in the College of Medical Sciences for related specializations.
From his part, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Ismail Zabiba, the Vice Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, explained that developing postgraduate programs is central to the university's focus on promoting scientific research and specialized fields. He noted that the program represents a valuable addition to postgraduate programs in the health sector and a significant opportunity for pharmacy graduates to enhance their scientific and research capabilities.
Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, indicated that the program specifications were prepared according to an academic methodology aimed at achieving integration between the program's objectives, learning outcomes, courses, teaching and learning methods, and assessment techniques. He emphasized that the specifications represent a key document in building and developing academic programs and ensuring their compliance with quality requirements. He commended the cooperation shown by the College of Medical Sciences and the relevant committees during the stages of preparing and reviewing the document, culminating in its presentation to the participants, their discussion and its approval.
From his part, Dr. Adel Ali Emran, the Dean of the College of Medical Sciences, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the participants and affirmed that the Master of Pharmacy program comes in response to the need to develop postgraduate studies in the field of pharmacy and to open broader horizons for the college's graduates to pursue further scientific and research qualifications. He pointed out that the program aims to enhance specialized knowledge and develop research capabilities to keep pace with scientific advancements in the field of pharmacy and the needs of the health sector.
Dr. Abdulrahman Yahya Al-Haifi, the Vice Dean of the College for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, explained that the program description document was the result of collaborative academic work between the College, the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and specialized committees. This work included reviewing the program's objectives, learning outcomes, courses, and various components, and verifying their alignment with academic quality standards.
He emphasized that the document's approval represents a significant step in fulfilling the program's academic requirements and moving on to subsequent procedures related to graduate studies programs.

Following these discussions, recommendations were presented and the document was finalized and approved.
Participants in the workshop included Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi, the Vice Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Sam Douba, the Vice Dean of the College of Medical Sciences for Student Affairs, Nasser Najad, the General Secretary of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, as well as heads of units within the Quality Center, committee members, specialists, and those involved in developing the program.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the program description document for the Master of Pharmacy program was approved. Certificates of participation were awarded to the preparation committees and those involved in developing the document, recognizing their contributions to this academic endeavor.
