■ Concurrently with the launch of the first scientific conference on addressing the challenges of addiction, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, the university inaugurated its accompanying scientific exhibition.

The exhibition brought together supporting companies, medical and educational institutions, as well as specialized exhibits focused on addiction prevention and raising awareness about its various types and health and social effects. From the outset, the exhibition proved an integral part of the conference, no less impactful than the scientific sessions, thanks to its practical and applied content that resonated with the community and its needs.

Among the participating pavilions, Thamar University Guidance and Psychological Care Center's exhibit stood out exceptionally. Its expansive pavilion served as a comprehensive knowledge and awareness platform, conveying the center's message of building sound psychological awareness, presenting scientific approaches to combating addiction, and understanding its neurological, psychological and behavioral roots.

The center's pavilion received widespread praise from attendees for its professional organization, clear and scientifically accurate content and its extensive experience in combating addiction and drug abuse through numerous seminars, events and activities over the years.

It is worth noting that Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, has led this center for many years, transforming it from an idea into a national landmark in the field of psychological counseling and care. The center employs a team of leading experts, physicians, and researchers in psychology nationwide, while Professor Dr. Abdulhameeri manages the center, demonstrating a field-oriented leadership spirit that translates psychological knowledge into awareness tools targeting families, students, and the community.

The pavilion presented illustrative models of the brain's journey during addiction, the mechanisms of neurological dysfunction, the role of psychotherapy, and rehabilitation pathways, in addition to visual displays and educational materials that attracted visitors from diverse backgrounds.

Throughout the exhibition, the pavilions were divided among pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, most notably the participating pharmaceutical companies, which showcased their latest technologies in treating addiction-related disorders, as well as diagnostic tools, testing methods and pharmacological and behavioral treatment solutions.

The presence of the supporting companies was characterized by a remarkable level of organization, providing ample opportunity for interaction between them and researchers, physicians and students.

Distinguished student participation also emerged from the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Students presented anatomical models, illustrative models, and research posters on the mechanisms of addiction and its effects on the heart, nervous system, and respiratory system, as well as others addressing digital addiction and its psychological effects. The students' strong presence at all stages of organization and presentation lent the exhibition a vibrant character, reflecting the high level of awareness and academic engagement among the university students.

The exhibition also allowed conference visitors to visit a special pavilion for the Anti-Narcotics Department of Dhamar Governorate. This pavilion displayed examples of seized substances and provided security guidelines for identifying methods of promotion and recruitment.

Anti-narcotics officers also gave live demonstrations focusing on protecting students and the community from the tactics of organized drug-related crime.

The exhibition served as a bridge between the theoretical knowledge presented in the scientific sessions and the practical realities that require diagnostic tools, support and awareness.

At the conclusion of the opening tour, led by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and accompanied by state and community leaders, including the Governor Mr. Mohammed Al-Bakhiti and Deputy Minister of Education Professor Hatem Al-Duais, attendees affirmed that the exhibition was not merely a display space, but a space for understanding and awareness. They emphasized that it complemented the conference, which aimed to address the phenomenon of addiction through science, knowledge, and integrated fieldwork.

It became clear that Thamar University, with its leadership, centers, researchers and students is creating a national project worthy of being the foundation for much ambition and hope in the coming years.
