Opening of the Software Lab and Holding a Cultural Event at the College of Computer Science at Thamar University

■ In a distinctive academic and cultural atmosphere, the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, opened the new software lab at the College of Computer Science and Informatics, in addition to an additional hall designated for the graduate studies program, in the presence of the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, the First Deputy Governor of Dhamar Governorate, Mr. Ahmed Hussein Al-Dhurani, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqalih and a number of University leaders and the University Student Forum.
Following the opening, the Rector of the University sponsored a joint cultural event organized by the College of Computer Science, the Graphics Center and the University Student Forum. The event witnessed a wide attendance of University leaders, including the University Rector's Consultant for Automation and Quality Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Hussaini, the Cultural Affairs Consultant, Mr. Hassan Al-Mawshki, the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, and his Assistant for Financial Affairs, Mr. Mishaal Sharhan, in addition to a number of general managers and a group students from the college.
In his speech during the event, the Rector of the University praised the efforts of the College of Computer Science, which he described as a "distinguished beacon", describing this day as an exceptional day in the University's journey, as the college witnessed a number of achievements despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through.
Dr. Al-Haifi stressed that the expansion of the college's infrastructure and the opening of more scientific departments and graduate programs is a qualitative addition to developing the University's academic performance.
He also pointed out that all of these projects were self-financed through austerity policies for operating expenses which reflects the University's steadfastness and perseverance in facing challenges.
From his part, the First Deputy Governor of Dhamar Governorate, Mr. Ahmed Hussein Al-Dhurani, praised Thamar University, saying that it is making steady progress towards excellence in various academic and cultural fields.
He also praised the efforts of its leadership in strengthening its infrastructure and achieving continuous development despite the current circumstances.
The event concluded amid an atmosphere of optimism and praise for the efforts of the University leadership and its academic and administrative cadres which contribute to strengthening the cultural, awareness and academic role of Thamar University as one of the most prominent academic institutions in the Republic of Yemen.
