Thamar University Discusses Updating the Name of the Marketing Department in the Faculty of Administrative Sciences to Align with the Unified Curriculum

■ Thamar University discussed today, in an academic workshop, changing the name of the Bachelor of Marketing and Production program in the Faculty of Administrative Sciences to the Marketing Department, and aligning its curriculum with the unified curricula approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in accordance with the requirements for standardizing curricula and developing academic programs.

The workshop was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs.

The workshop commenced with an opening address by Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs, followed by a welcoming address from the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid. Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi, the Vice Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, then presented the workshop's objectives, working mechanisms, and discussion procedures. This was followed by a presentation on the legal framework of the unified study plan, including a review of relevant ministerial decrees and the advantages of transitioning to the unified plan, delivered by Dr. Abdulkarim Mohammed Al-Mawshki.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Makradi, the Head of the Department, then reviewed the differences between the previous study plans and the unified plan. Dr. Hussein Al-Munajar, the Vice Dean of the College for Academic Affairs, addressed the alignment of course content and ensuring the preservation of scientific terminology, thus maintaining the program's core knowledge components during the transition to the unified plan.

The workshop concluded with a presentation and discussion of the working group outputs, presented by Dr. Abdulkarim Ahmed Al-Dailami, as a prelude to completing the academic procedures related to changing the department's name and aligning its study plan with the approved unified plan.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mujahid, The Vice Dean of the College for Student Affairs, Abdullah Rajih, the General Secretary of the College of Administrative Sciences, Nasser Najad, the Genetal Secretary of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, as well as a number of faculty members from the college and members of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance.
