Workshop at Thamar University to Analyze the Strategies of Thamar and Jiblah Universities

◼️Under the slogan "One Hand Builds, the Other Protects", and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, a high-level academic leadership workshop was organized today by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Thamar University.
The workshop, titled "Strategic Analysis of Thamar and Jiblah Universities for Medical and Health Sciences," was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari, the Rector of Jiblah University, along with several academics and administrative leaders from both universities.
The workshop opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Opening speeches highlighted the deep relationship between the two universities. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari praised the historical strength of cooperation with Thamar University, emphasizing the excellence of its medical graduates.
He noted that Thamar University’s medical graduates stand out for their competence at Jiblah University Hospital, reflecting the high quality of education at Thamar University. Dr. Al-Matari also thanked Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, for her efforts in establishing Jiblah University and proposed the idea of a twinning program between the two universities, stressing that exceptional circumstances should not be an obstacle but rather a motivation for creativity.
On behalf of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, welcomed the delegation from Jiblah University. He emphasized the importance of such meetings in strengthening coordination and cooperation between the two institutions. He also highlighted that despite Yemen’s challenges, the country has made significant strides in developing its human resources.
He further pointed out that Yemeni universities have the potential for contribution and innovation in various fields, particularly in medicine, due to their highly skilled academic and scientific personnel. He stressed the importance of inter-university collaboration and twinning as key factors in promoting scientific research and supporting comprehensive development.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Abdelkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of Thamar University for Student Affairs, highlighted the importance of this meeting between university leaders to enhance cooperation and overcome challenges. He noted that Ibb Governorate is the only one in Yemen with two public universities, one of which specializes in medical sciences, while Thamar University stands out with its diverse medical faculties, institutes and specialized hospitals staffed by some of the country’s top medical professionals.
He also commended Jiblah University for its remarkable progress in a short period despite the exceptional circumstances of its establishment. He emphasized that financial difficulties and current conditions are the biggest challenges in implementing strategic plans for both universities.
From her part, Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, expressed her delight at this distinguished academic gathering, noting that the workshop reflects the faculty’s pivotal role in supporting strategic studies.
She also emphasized the importance of administrative disciplines across medical, scientific and humanitarian fields, given their close connection to financial and organizational management in institutions.
Additionally, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sanbani, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, praised the efforts of PhD students, noting that their analysis of the universities' strategies, strengths, and weaknesses provides an opportunity for university leaders to benefit from research findings and future development.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hamoud Al-Mawshki underscored the importance of discussing university strategic plans, pointing out that many of these plans remain unimplemented due to current circumstances. However, this workshop shed light on the practical and applied aspects of these strategies.
Throughout the workshop, PhD students in Public Administration presented key scientific analyses of the strategies of Thamar and Jiblah Universities, identifying strengths and weaknesses in their implementation.
At the conclusion of the workshop, university leaders and the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences were honored with plaques and certificates of appreciation from the PhD students, including, Mr. Khalid Al-Ahsab, Mr. Bander Sarhan, Mr. Zakaria Al-Souswa, Mr.Lutfi Al-Tariqi, Mr. Mohammed Ghallab, Mr. Akram Al-Ashwal, Mr. Abubakr Al-Shaghadari, Suraya Al-Junaid, Mr. Mansour Al-Makhlafi, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Thamari, and Mr. Ameen Al-Shareem.
The workshop was also attended by several academic and administrative leaders from both universities, including Prof. Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of Thamar University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sadiq Al-Mohni, the Vice-Rector of Jiblah University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hitar, the Vice-Rector of Jiblah University for Student Affairs, Dr. Murad Al-Dhrasi, the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center at Jiblah University, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretaryof Thamar University, Dr. Ali Quradha, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Student Affairs, Mr. Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department at Thamar University, Mr. Abdullah Rajeh, the General Secretary of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Dr. Fouad Alwan, Mr. Emran Shamsan from the University of Ibb delegation, as well as a distinguished group of medical and academic leaders from both universities and faculty members from Thamar University.
The workshop reflected the spirit of academic collaboration between the two universities and their commitment to developing their strategies in line with current challenges, aiming to enhance higher education outcomes and promote scientific research for comprehensive development in Yemen.
