Thamar University Launches the New Academic Year at the College of Education and Discusses Postgraduate Studies Development

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inaugurated the new academic year at the College of Education. He began his visit to the college with an inspection tour of the classrooms, the college's control room and its academic and administrative facilities. He was accompanied by his Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah.

During the visit, the Rector met with the Dean of the College, Dr. Ahmed Masoud Al-Hadi, his Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Hamoud Al-Mulaiki, his Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Quradha, a number of department heads, the Director of the Language Center, and the College's General Secretary, Dawla Al-Emdi.

The attendees reviewed the departments' readiness to receive students and plans to develop the educational environment in conjunction with the start of the academic year.

The meeting devoted significant space to discussing issues related to postgraduate studies and scientific research, with the attendance of the Head of the Department of Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Al-Akwa. Mechanisms for motivating researchers, criteria for honoring them and procedures for issuing identification cards were reviewed. Ways to enrich scientific production and link it to the needs of society and the labor market were also discussed.

On the administrative front, the University Rector emphasized the importance of implementing an electronic fingerprint system to monitor the attendance of academic and administrative staff. He directed the rapid completion of the technical infrastructure and the training of employees to ensure quality service delivery at the college.
