Thamar University discusses the role of Educational Institutions towards the Palestinian issue

January 7, 2024 ■ Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, a cultural seminar was organized today at the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the Faculty of Education at the University, on the role of Educational Institutions towards the Palestinian cause. During the seminar, the Rector of the University praised the importance of its axes which dealt with the role of various Educational Institutions, ranging from basic Education Institutions to Academic Education Institutions in promoting faith identity, Islamic culture, and linking to the Palestinian cause from a humanitarian perspective. The Rector of the University stressed the need for the curricula of basic, Secondary and University Education to include modern concepts related to our spiritual, faith, cultural, National, and Islamic needs. He pointed out that such curricula should be free from ideas that call for surrender, response to external pressures, influences imprinted by Western entities and organizations which aim to achieve their interests without taking into account our cultural specificity. The seminar was also attended by the Vice-Rector of the University for Higher Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, and the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi where they interacted with a number of topics of the seminar. The seminar dealt with three main axes, Dr. Ahmed Massad Al-Hadi spoke in the first axis about the hoped-for role of Educational Institutions in achieving awareness, Dr. Ali Quradha in the second axis dealt with the hoped-for role of Educational Institutions in achieving awareness of the oppression of the Palestinian people, and Dr. Hammoud Al-Mulaiki spoke in the third axis about the social responsibility of educational institutions towards the Palestinian cause. The symposium was enriched by important interventions that the researchers counted among the recommendations that came out of the symposium. The seminar was attended by General secretary of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Rector's Consultant for Administrative Affairs, the Governorate Consultant for Women's Affairs, the Assistant General secretary for Financial Affairs, the General Secretary of the College, the directors of Public Media, Public Relations, University Security, Higher Studies, and a number of Academics and Researchers at the University.
