Thamar University Discusses Development of the University's Continuing Education Institute

■ In a strategic move that reflects Thamar University's commitment to improving and developing the continuing education system, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, chaired an expanded meeting today with the leadership of the University's Continuing Education Institute.
The meeting discussed several vital issues affecting the future of continuing education in medical specialties at the university, including the bridging system, the establishment of a midwifery department and enhancing the efficiency of the educational and training process in the Physician Assistant Department.
The meeting, attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, reviewed the coordination and admission mechanisms at the institute, emphasizing the need for early preparation for the 1447 academic year in light of the expansion of programs and specializations at the institute.
From his part, the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Nabil Al-Mikhlafi, gave a comprehensive presentation on the technical and administrative preparations for the opening of the Midwifery Department starting next academic year.
He also highlighted the readiness of the infrastructure and laboratories, as well as the necessary teaching and training staff to ensure a strong start for the new department, meeting community needs and providing the health sector with quality competencies.
In the presence of the Institute's Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Salah Al-Qawsi, and the Head of the Medical Assistant Department, Dr. Thikra Al-Sharabi, the meeting addressed the most prominent academic and training challenges facing the department. Focus was placed on ways to improve the educational process and practical training for students to ensure distinguished educational outcomes.
In the presence of Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University, Professor Fahmi Al-Shami, the General Secretary of the Continuing Education Center, addressed a number of financial and administrative issues that require addressing.
The most prominent challenges and possible solutions were discussed to enhance the efficiency of administrative performance and ensure the sustainability of educational services provided by the Institute.
