Thamar University Discusses Development of Continuing Education Institute and Introducing New Specializations

■ As a part of the intensive preparations for the academic year 1447, the Presidency of Thamar University held an expanded meeting today at the headquarters of the Continuing Education Institute.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Continuing Education Institute, Dr. Nabil Al-Mikhlafi and the General Secretary of the University, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, in addition to the Vice Deans, Department Heads, and members of the academic and administrative staff.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the challenges facing the Institute of Continuing Education and developing comprehensive development plans covering academic, administrative, and student affairs aspects.

The meeting also addressed ways to improve academic performance and address difficulties related to laboratories and practical training, both at Al-Wihdah University Hospital and at several hospitals in Dhamar City.

The attendees also evaluated the progress of the educational process and explored ways to improve the quality of academic programs to keep pace with the requirements of enhancing academic performance.

The meeting also discussed plans to strengthen the academic structure and the possibility of opening new academic departments and vital specializations that meet the needs of the labor market and contribute to the development of the educational process at the institute.
