Meeting of Heads and Editorial Directors of Refereed Scientific Journals

■ The periodic meeting of the Heads and Editors of the refereed scientific journals issued by Thamar University was held today at the building of the Vice-Rector for High Studies and Scientific Research chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University who spoke to the attendees about the importance of developing scientific journals and enhancing the role of scientific research at the University through organized institutional work based on professional ethics which does not depend on individual efforts and whims.

Prof. Al-Haifi also pointed out that he attaches utmost importance to activating the role of scientific research, journals, and scientific references, pointing out that he recently issued Resolution No. 200 of 2023, which decided to appoint Dr. Essam Wasel as a Head of the Department of University Libraries, Printing, Publishing and Translation, as well as he appointed a General Director of Libraries in order to help him spread knowledge through the printing and publishing house .

At the meeting, which was attended by the Heads and Editorial Directors of Refereed Scientific Journals, the topics included in the agenda were reviewed and discussed as well as the topic of developing scientific journals, nominating the advisory body and editors for each journal according to the regulations, opening bank accounts, and approving the mechanism for receiving publishing fees abroad for refereed scientific journals at Thamar University.

From his part, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, the Vice-Rector of the University for High Studies and Scientific Research thanked the Chairman of the Board of Refereed Scientific Journals, the attendees for their interest and high interest in seeking to develop the performance of scientific journals in a way that contributes to raising the status of Thamar University as an Academic Research Institution and pointed out that the results of these efforts have become tangible in the research field.

Dr. Zabibah also praised the efforts of the Editorial Board of the Refereed Scientific Journals issued by the Faculty of Arts, namely (the Journal of Arts, the Journal of Arts for Linguistic and Literary Studies, and the Journal of Arts for Psychological and Educational Studies) and blessed its obtaining the Arcif Impact Coefficient"ARCIF", within Q3, Q4.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr.Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice_Rector for Student Affairs, and Directors of High Studies and Scientific Research, Relations, and Media.
