The Rector of Thamar University Discusses Academic Development Priorities and Postgraduate Studies During Visit to the Faculty of Engineering

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, reviewed a number of academic and student issues with the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as topics related to postgraduate programs and future development plans.

This took place during Eid visit to the faculty, as a part of his program of field visits to the university's various colleges and units.

The visit was attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs,  Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, Hassan Al-Mawshki, the Consultant of the Rector for Cultural Affairs, and a number of other university leaders.

During the visit, the University Rector met with the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Fouad Al-Jermouzi, the college's General Secretary General, Ali Al-Thumrani, and a number of academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and technical staff. He exchanged greetings and congratulations with them on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

The meeting addressed several issues related to the educational process, student needs, and the requirements for developing academic programs. Discussions also included the status of postgraduate studies and mechanisms for enhancing their role in supporting scientific research and meeting development needs.

The meeting further addressed the cultural and intellectual aspects and specialized programs implemented by the college. Hassan Al-Mawshki, the Unversity Rector for Cultural Affairs, reviewed a number of cultural activities, seminars, and events that contribute to raising student awareness and strengthening the college's presence in various scientific and cultural fields.

Professor Mohammed Al-Haifi emphasized the importance of continuing academic development efforts and enhancing the educational and research environment at the college. This is crucial to keep pace with the requirements of modern engineering specializations and to strengthen the college's position and role in preparing qualified engineering professionals to serve the nation and society.
