The Head of the paediatrics Department

 

Dear visitors of the website of the Faculty of Medicine in general and of the Paediatrics Department in particular. I welcome you all and I would like to let you know that the said is one of the departments of the clinical department in the Faculty of Medicine, Thamar University. Despite the limited number of the teaching staff, the department performs its duty perfectly to teach the students the theoretical part and the practical training. On the theoretical side, the faculty members cover most of the pediatric branches like growth and development, primary health care and vaccinations, nutrition diseases, hereditary, metabolic and immunological diseases. It also teaches diseases of the digestive system, respiratory system and heart diseases in addition to blood and kidney diseases and diseases of the nervous system. The faculty members also serve the community through working in the paediatrics department of the university hospital and its external clinics. 

The Pediatrics Department in the hospital contains the following units: 1- The Neonatal Unit 2- The Intensive Care Unit 3- The Respiratory System Unit 4- The Nutrition Unit 5- The General Unit for the rest of pediatrics. The department also aspires in the event that the teaching staff is available to open the following units: 1- Heart Diseases Unit 2- The Hematology and Oncology Unit 3- The Kidney Diseases Unit 4- The Nervous Diseases Unit 5- The Special Unit for Genetic, Metabolic and Immunological Diseases.
