The Academic Council of Thamar University Holds its Eighth Meeting

■ The eighth meeting of the Academic Council of Thamar University was held today at the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs, chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, and members of the Council. The meeting addressed a number of issues related to the educational process and enhancing the efficiency of academic performance at the university.
The Council began its proceedings by reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting before proceeding to discuss the items on the agenda. Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, thecAssistant to the President for Centers Affairs, was invited as a guest of honor, reflecting the Council's commitment to broadening the scope of consultation and benefiting from diverse academic expertise in addressing the issues at hand.
The council discussed several academic settlement matters, aiming to resolve outstanding issues within the framework of applicable laws and regulations. It also reviewed a number of sabbatical leave requests submitted by faculty members and their assistants, striving to balance the demands of scientific development with the needs of the educational process within the colleges and centers.
The meeting also addressed the appointment of faculty members and their assistants in the College of Education, based on the advertised and competitive process, thereby enhancing the quality of educational outcomes and providing the university with qualified academic personnel.
In line with the university's commitment to improving its educational programs, the council discussed a proposed plan for accrediting undergraduate academic programs. This represents a strategic step towards establishing quality standards and academic accreditation, developing the educational environment, and aligning programs with the requirements of development and the labor market.
