The Academic Affairs Council at Thamar University Approves a Number of Promotions and Academic Adjustments

■ In the spirit of academic responsibility toward faculty members and their assistants and in line with the directives of Professor Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, aimed at activating academic councils on a regular basis and enhancing their oversight and planning performance, the first meeting of the Academic Affairs Council for the academic year 1447, 2025/2026 was held today.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and attended by council members.

The Council began its work after approving the minutes of its previous meeting by discussing a number of topics related to improving academic performance, most notably academic adjustments and promotions for a number of faculty members, subject to fulfilling academic requirements. This ensures fairness and transparency in the evaluation and promotion mechanisms within the university.

The Council also reviewed a number of files related to academic programs and the academic needs of the colleges, including proposals for updating curricula and program descriptions to align with the university's plans and meet labor market requirements.
