The Eighth Council of Academic Affairs at Thamar University Approves the Midwifery Program and Curriculum for the Academic Year 1447

■ In a step that reflects the serious commitment to strengthening the academic process, the eighth meeting of the Academic Affairs Council at Thamar University for the academic year 1446, 2024-2025 was held today at the headquarters of the Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, and members of the Academic Council.

The Council began its work by reading and approving the minutes of the seventh meeting.

The Council devoted a large portion of its session to discussing important academic issues, including evaluating the progress of the educational process and making arrangements for the academic plan for the upcoming academic year 1447. Also, a number of topics on the agenda were also reviewed and appropriate decisions were taken.

In support of the academic path, the Council approved a number of job adjustments and promotions for faculty members and their assistants.

The Council also approved the launch of several new educational programs, most notably the approval of a three-year Midwifery Diploma Program within the medical specialties at Thamar University Institute for Continuing Education.

This program responds to the growing community needs in the field of primary health care, particularly in rural areas.
