Thamar University holds the third meeting of the Graduate Studies Council for the academic year 2024-2025

■ The third meeting of the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council for the academic year 1446, 2024-2025 was held today at the Vice Deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Thamar University, headed by the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Ismail Zabiba.
 
The meeting witnessed in-depth discussions aimed at enhancing performance in the field of graduate studies and research at the university, where many vital issues related to graduate studies were reviewed.
 
The meeting was opened by reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting, and discussing many requests submitted by the university's colleges. Among the issues discussed were the approval of the titles of scientific theses submitted by the Faculties of Arts and Administrative Sciences, in addition to approving the final results of the graduate programs in the Faculties of Applied Sciences, Administrative Sciences, and Arts, reflecting commitment to academic quality standards.
 
The Council also discussed a number of topics submitted by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, including the results of the Executive Doctorate Program in Public Administration, the results of the supplementary round for the academic year 2021-2022, and the results of the ninth preliminary Master's in Business Administration.
 
The list of names of newly accepted students in graduate programs was also approved, with some students being given the opportunity to settle their academic status in the college.
 
In the context of academic development, the Council reviewed the report of the committee tasked with opening a doctorate program in the Faculty of Medical Sciences in the specialization of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, which reflects the University's aspiration to expand the scope of graduate programs to serve the needs of scientific research and society.
 
The meeting also discussed the applications submitted by the College of Arts, where the description of the doctoral programs in the specializations of Islamic History and Civilization, Modern and Contemporary History, Arabic Language and Literature, and English Language and Literature were approved, in addition to the request of the College of Computers and Informatics to approve the admission of 33 new students in the Master's programs.
 
On the other hand, some administrative issues were discussed, such as amending the personal data of some students and approving the request of the College of Education regarding the appointment of an internal examiner.
 
At the end of the meeting, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba stressed the importance of concerted efforts to enhance the quality of academic programs, stressing the need for continuous development of postgraduate studies and scientific research in line with the requirements of development and community service. 
 
He also thanked the members of the Council for their active role in supporting the University's academic and research progress and urged them to interact positively and attend the grand Thamar University ceremony dedicated to honoring distinguished and most cited researchers in the field of scientific research in the name of Thamar University.
