Thamar University Strengthens Staff Reform Efforts by Forming a Committee to Prepare an Academic and Administrative Needs Plan

■ With the aim of strengthening staff reform efforts at the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, chaired an official meeting in his office at the university headquarters.
The meeting included university leaders, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University, and members of the committee addressing imbalances.
This meeting was held within the framework of institutional efforts aimed at strengthening staff reform and addressing issues related to the academic and administrative structure of the university.
The meeting discussed the outcomes of the recent meeting held with the Ministry of Civil Service in Sana'a at the end of last week, including observations related to regularizing the status of academic and administrative staff. It also reviewed the existing challenges related to the university's actual need for qualified personnel in several academic and administrative fields.
During the meeting, the University Rector emphasized the importance of giving special attention to the issue of staffing, considering it a cornerstone for the stability of the educational process and the development of institutional performance. He commended the efforts of the committee tasked with addressing these imbalances and the tasks it accomplished within the specified timeframe, reflecting a high level of commitment and institutional responsibility.
The University Rector noted that honoring the staff who have served the university and contributed to the success of the educational process over many years is a moral and institutional obligation. He stressed that working to regularize their employment status is an indispensable duty, given its direct impact on enhancing job stability and strengthening institutional loyalty.
The University Rector directed the formation of a new specialized committee tasked with preparing a comprehensive academic and administrative needs assessment plan, according to official templates, within a period not exceeding ten days. This plan must accurately identify needs based on the approved teaching plans and specializations in the colleges and in accordance with civil service requirements and the legal framework governing employment.
The meeting emphasized the committee's commitment to conducting a comprehensive data update and completing the required documentation within the specified timeframe, starting from the meeting date. This will ensure compliance with requirements and contribute to serving the academic process and improving administrative performance at Thamar University.
