Thamar University Approves Settlements, Promotions, and Appointments at its Sixth Council Meeting

■ In the context of strengthening university governance, Thamar University Council held its sixth meeting for the academic year 1447, chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the University Rector, and attended by the University's Vice-Rectors and council members.
The meeting addressed a wide range of academic, administrative, and organizational issues related to the smooth operation of the educational and research processes at the university.
At the beginning of the session, the council approved the minutes of its previous meeting after reviewing them, affirming the regularity of institutional work and the continued follow-up on decisions made in previous meetings.
The council discussed the recommendations of the Academic Council and approved the correction of certain employment data in previous minutes according to official documents. It also approved academic settlements for a number of faculty members in several colleges following their attainment of advanced academic qualifications from Yemeni universities.
The Council approved several academic promotions for faculty members in the Colleges of Education, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine. It also approved a sick leave for one academic and several new appointments in various colleges and centers based on academic qualifications and competitive selection results.
The meeting also discussed amendments to some job titles, transfer requests to the university and the reinstatement of some academics in accordance with legal procedures. Additionally, it discussed the report of the committee tasked with reviewing the data of absent faculty members and approved the completion of legal procedures regarding their cases.
The Council reviewed the recommendations of the Council of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, approving the final results for doctoral and master's degree graduates and ratifying the lists of graduates of executive and professional master's programs for several academic years.
The Council discussed the recommendations of the Council of Student Affairs, approving several requests to correct the names of students and graduates in a number of colleges and institutes based on official documents and court rulings. It also mandated that colleges, institutes, and centers implement the ministerial circular regarding the completion of awareness and educational courses for all university affiliates.
