Exceptional Competition for Outstanding Students for Medicine Seats at Thamar University

■ On an exceptional day filled with competition, the halls and amphitheaters of Thamar University hosted today the entrance and placement exam for 1,078 high school graduates.They competed for fifty seats in the College of Medicine, ranked first in academic accreditation across the Republic of Yemen.

In his inaugural address, the University Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi praised the efforts of the Student Affairs Office, led by his deputy, Professor Dr. Al-Rifai, and the College of Medicine team, led by Dr. Al-Murtadha.

He commended the exemplary preparation and organization of this academic achievement, emphasizing that the process is proceeding in a transparent atmosphere that ensures equal opportunities for all and that each student will shape their future and determine their position through their performance in the fully automated placement exams.

From his part, the University's Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, explained that the matching process is carried out with the utmost professionalism and precision, as applicants' data, photos and fingerprints are reviewed both in paper and electronic form.

He also provided applicants with guidance on the examination process, noting that the marking and comparison are carried out automatically within a robust system that ensures complete fairness.

From his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdullah Al-Murtadha, welcomed the examinees and congratulated them on reaching this stage, describing them as the elite of this year's graduates.

He emphasized that the college's fifty seats will be awarded to those who prove their worth, while those who fail to qualify will still have the opportunity to compete later under the parallel and private-funded systems, as only the best will win the Medicine Chair at Thamar University.

The exam was attended by a number of university and college of medicine leaders, including Prof. Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Adhrai, the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, Abdulmalik Al-Muallimi, the University Registrar, and Ahmed Al-Mujahid, the General Secretary of the College of Medicine, in addition to academic and administrative staff who were keen to ensure the success of this pivotal day.
