Thamar University hosts the Academic Accreditation Committee for Medicine and Surgery. - Thamar University media/ Jamal Al-Bahri / 20 August 2023: ■Today, University Rector Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi received in his office the local residents committee for Academic Accreditation of the General Medicine and Surgery Program. At the meeting, the University Rector welcomed the visiting committee and thanked them for their interest in obtaining the Faculty of Medicine in Thamar University the academic accreditation in the general medicine and surgery program, pointing out that obtaining accreditation is the pride of the Republic of Yemen and not only for Thamar University, and it will be a strong message to other Yemeni Universities, and an invitation to them to approach in order to obtain accreditation. Dr. Al-Haifi added that it is easy to open Medical Colleges, and it is possible to obtain local licenses, but the main benefit is to obtain accreditation by finding the appropriate infrastructure and competent staff also providing modern ways of communication and University Education to get the conditions for obtaining accreditation. He continued that we are confident in the cadres and leaders of the Faculty of Medicine who have been preparing for this day since 2013, and we are also confident in the efforts of colleagues in Quality and Academic Accreditation. They are always ahead in training and appropriate qualification in this field to obtain this goal. Talking to the Evaluation Committee, Dr. Al-Haifi said that this field is fully available to you to evaluate the performance and capabilities of the University Medicine and Surgery Program, do your tasks, and evaluate the performance responsibly. We are ready for evaluation, referring to the great efforts of Professor Abdullah Al-Mujahid, the founder of Thamar University for 27 years, as his insightful view was at the founding of Thamar University, and laid the foundations from the first building block of the University for the first stage of fifty years of giving and success. In the speech of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. Amtalkhaliq Mihrasof, she informed that we welcome you to your University, and we wish all applicants to receive accreditation, and we are ready to evaluate transparently as we have been seeking to gain confidence for years, and we have made efforts to achieve total quality, and we are always ready for improvement, and we have a permanent continuity of improvement, and we are ready to listen to you and your recommendations also we will work on it because our goal is to improve the quality of our college outputs, to be exemplary and honorable for us not at the local level but globally. Dr. Mihras added that we have been adopting the basic standards such as quality standards in evaluation in various fields such as students and faculty members, and the efficiency standard of the University Hospital for years. The College works as an integrated continuous beehive benefiting from experiments to improve the continuous, and InshaAllah we will get the accreditation, what we have been doing for more than a decade, will certainly receive appropriate recognition. For his part, the head of the team thanked the president and leadership of Thamar University for the hospitality and the wonderful reception typical of Thamar University, adding that the opportunity is available for all graduates of Yemeni universities to receive the same entitlement license and opportunity as graduates of any university in the world, for the criterion is efficiency and quality of education, and through the efforts of medical colleges and through their commitment to standards, they can allow their students to reach the international.
