■ The Rector of Thamar University expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the significant role played by the Psychological Counseling and Care Center at Thamar University, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Ismail Zabiba, and its specialized staff, as well as for the efforts of the Drug Control Department in Dhamar Governorate, represented by Colonel Abu Al-Ezz Hamid Al-Mutawakkil and all its members, in the context of their active participation in the activities of the First Scientific Conference on Addressing Addiction Challenges, organized by the College of Medical Sciences.
The praise came after the center and department's outstanding presence at their respective pavilions within the conference's accompanying exhibition. The Counseling and Psychological Care Center presented rich scientific and educational content, providing visitors with a detailed understanding of the psychological and behavioral effects of addiction. It also introduced treatment methods, psychological support techniques and rehabilitation programs.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Department presented exhibits and awareness materials on various types of narcotics, methods of distribution, and prevention strategies. This national effort reflects a strong sense of responsibility and addresses the scale of the challenges facing society.
The two pavilions, with their presentations and content, constituted a valuable addition to the conference. They contributed to enhancing the cultural and educational dimensions of the scientific events and opened important avenues for students, researchers and the public to understand prevention and protection mechanisms, demonstrating a clear integration of academic knowledge and practical experience.
The university Rector emphasized that the active participation of the center and department was a key factor in the conference's success. He added that their efforts, enlightenment and awareness initiatives represent a national and ethical asset, reflecting the institutions' standing and their vital role in combating the scourge of addiction.
The University Rector also expressed his appreciation for this participation, which he described as “a true support for the university’s mission and a firm aid in the battle of awareness and education.”
